From Denver to Steamboat Springs

Traveling west on Interstate 70 (take the exit toward Grand Junction), approximately 68 miles to the Silverthorne exit #205, onto Colorado Highway #9. Turning right at the bottom of the exit ramp will put you on Highway #9, which will take you to Kremmling, approximately 40 miles northwest of Silverthorne. When you get to Kremmling, turn left (west) at the first stop light, onto Highway 40, which will take you into Steamboat Springs, approximately 51 miles.

From Steamboat Springs to Steamboat Lake Outfitters

Traveling west on Hwy 40, drive through the downtown area of Steamboat Springs. On the far west end of town, the last stop light is at the corner of Hwy 40 and Routt County Road #129 (also called Elk River Road). There is a 7-11 store on the corner, which is the only 7-11 in the area. Turn north (right) onto Routt County Road #129. Make note of your odometer reading. Steamboat Lake Outfitters is exactly 24 miles north of Steamboat Springs. The "24" mile marker is right in front of our barn on the right hand side of the road! The drive up the Elk River Valley is gorgeous, so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, about 45 - 50 minutes is sufficient. You'll pass the small community of Clark at the 18 mile marker. Just keep going a little further.
